Wroclaw is one of the undervalued cities in Europe. Summer in Wroclaw is beautiful. Old town with square, river, nice and affordable restaurants and cafe's. Modern shopping centers and everything accessible by foot. Wroclaw has basicly everything people are expecting to see when they head to Prague or Budapest. In addition to this Wroclaw has one advantage over Prague or Budapest. In early August the nicest terrace at old town square you can still see local people and you are not competing about the last free tabel with thousands of other tourists. Wroclaw Magic Fountains are also popular place to visit. Wroclaw is not only nice old town, Wroclaw zoo is also worth visiting if you are there.
Wroclaw Zoo & Afrykarium is located few kilometres outside old town and center of the city. There is affordable public transport and taxis are also cheap in Poland. Wroclaw Zoo and Afrykarium is not expensive place to visit. Normal ticket is 40 PLN (~10€) and family ticket for two adults and two children is 120 PLN (~30€). There are also student and children discounts. Wroclaw zoo is definitely worth visiting if you are near Wroclaw. I guess you can spend there whole day but it's perfect for half day visits.
